Notes about Adrianus Johannes "Jos" Spapens

Jos is begonnen als schoenmaker, ook heeft hij nog gewerkt in de fabriek van Dekkers in Kaatsheuvel.
Per 28 januari 1940 is hij begonnen als verzekeringsagent voor de RVS (Rotterdamse Verzekerings Societeiten), Westerstraat 3 in Rotterdam. Omdat in die tijd RVS alleen levensverzekeringen deed had hij daarnaast een agendschap van De Stad Rotterdam voor zijn schadeverzekeringsportefeuille.

Via Leonardus Cornelis (oom van zijn vader) was hij bekend met de familie Lagarde en heeft hij ook later zijn vrouw leren kennen.

Over mijn geboortehuis Kerkstraat 38 is het volgende te vertellen:
Op 25-7-1910 verkoopt Wilhelmus Cornelis Evers, schoenmaker, aan Wilhelmus Wagemans het huis voor fl 750,-. Evers moest daarna de hyptheek van fl 450 nog aflossen bij Arnoldus Dankers. ( LOZ Kadaster E 357 huis erf grootte 42 ca).
Op 19-11-1912 hebben Johannes Petrus van Leest en Wilhelmus Wagemans een verschil over erfafscheiding perceel E357, Verschil wordt opgelost hierdoor wordt perceel 6,80 m2 groter. Het privaat wordt verplaatst en Wagemans betaald aan van Leest fl 25,-. Verwezen wordt naar exploit (afwezig) waarop ook de plattegrond staat van de situatie in 1912.
Op 27-4-1927 is er een verklaring van notaris van Ham 27-4-1927: “perceel onbezwaard van hypotheek Eigenaar Piet van Zon te Oss”. Piet heeft het huis door erfenis verkregen van Wilhelmus Wagemans echtgenoot van Wilhelmina Maria van Zon.
Op 2-5-1927 koopt weduwe Fien het huis van Piet van Zon voor fl 2500. Het huis wordt op dat moment nog verhuurd, maar gezien de verzekering in december bewoond door oma en mijn vader. Later wordt het adres Kerkstraat 38.
Op 20-11-1904 sluit Willem Spapens een verzekering tegen brand en gevaren bij L’Union te Parijs
Verzekerd voor fl 600,- tegen een premie van fl 1,- per jaar.Inboedel verzekerd inclusief fl 50,- voor gouden en zilveren voorwerpen. het adres was Loon op Zand nr 138, een huis in De Doelen, daar is Jos geboren.
Op 27-12-1927 (na verhuizing) wordt “de verzekerde som van het meubilair verhoogd en gebracht op twee duizend gulden, w.o. gouden en zilveren voorwerpen voor F 300,- benevens een rijwiel en een trapnaaimachine. Het meubilair is overgebracht naar een huis van steen gebouwd met pannen gedekt, belendend door een dubbel winkelhuis waarvan de O.Z met riet gedekt is , de W.Z. met pannen, in dit perceel is een yzerwinkel: te Loon op Zand Kerkstraat E 327”.
De opstal was al verzekerd (per 28-4-1925 door PJ van Zon te Oss) voor fl 2500. Deze verzekering gaat op 25-5-1927 over op mej. de Wed Spapens-Groene. Jos is altijd bij zijn moeder blijven wonen en na hun huwelijk in 1944 gaan Jos en Jet hier inwonen . Het huis wordt verkocht op 22-4-1955 als ze verhuizen naar Hogesteenweg 41. Na het overlijden van Jos wordt dit huis weer op 31-5-1974 verkocht aan mevr I Sliedrecht-van Lavieren en gaat Jet wonen op Virgo nr 2.
