Notes about Willem Spapen

Hij werd bij doop als Guilliemus Spaingien ingeschreven en zijn doopdatum werd dus moeilijk gevonden maar zijn bestaan blijkt ook duidelijk uit de alimentatieregelingvan 1734 waarin hij 16 jaar oud genoemd wordt. Later zal hij dikwijls, optreden als getuige en doopheffer bij zijn broers en zusters.
Willem was eigenaar van een huis te Goirle aan het Hoogend.
Het perceel 'moer en uitgesteken putten' te Tilburg, afkomstig van zijn ouders, verkoopt hij in 1757 aan Govert Jan Pessers. Van Willem Adriaan van de Sande koopt hij een akker te Goirleaan het Ven.
In 1782 maakt hij met zijn vrouw een testament waarin de langstlevende tot universeel erfgenaam benoemd wordt.
Na de dood van zijn vrouw in 1791 benoemt hij Antonij Govert van Enschot tot voogd over zijn minderjarig kleinkind Willemijn Couwenberg. Voogd over zijn andere erfgenamen, die bij zijn dood nog minderjarig mochten zijn, wordt Jan Baptist Huijbert van Boxtel. Zijn zonen Mathijs en Cornelis machtigt hij om zijn goederen 'te regeren en administeren, de vaste en erfelijke goederen te verhuren en zijn roerende goederen publiek of uit de hand te verkopen'.
Willem werd niet lang daarna begraven waarna door de voogden van de minderjarige erfgenamen een inventaris werd opgemaakt. Zijn goederen bestonden o.a. uit 'een paruijk, een cruijsboog en een rotting'. Er was nog een vordering wegens verkochte rogge. De.schulden bestonden uit een obligatie van 350 gulden ten gunste van Jan Baptist van Boxtel en een lening van 50 gulden van Peter van de Wouw om de doodschulden te betalen.
In april 1792 delen Mathijs en Cornelis Spaapen, Adriaan de Jong, gehuwd met Petronella Spaapen en Antonij van Enschot als voogd van Willemijn Couwenberg, de goederen van hun ouders.
