Notes about Johan Arnold Tobias Barhorst

Johan Arnold Barhorst, afkomstig uit Priggenhage/Bersenbrück bij Damme, Oldenburg, Duitsland, vestigde zich in 1835 met zijn vrouw Maria Christina Schene als boer in de Polder Waalenburg op Texel. Zij hadden toen al 6 kinderen. Waarschijnlijk bestonden er al oude relaties met Texel: in 1737 compareerde voor een notaris op Texel een echtpaar Johan Hendrik Barhorst en Gesina Hinxlage uit Dinxlage nav een erfenis van haar broer.
Hij is na het overlijden van zijn vrouw in 1864 van Texel naar Amerika vertrokken.
