    JOHNSON, WINIFRED L. Winifred L. Johnson, 78, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 6, 2012, at CT Hospice in Branford. She was born in Boston, MA on May 6, 1934, daughter of the late Louis and Winifred Servaes. Winifred lived a spirited life, never taking herself too seriously. She was the most liberal, open-minded and kind person to all who knew her. She was a smart and well-read woman who could sing countless songs. Winifred was a hard worker who always strove for the rights of women. She had many jobs throughout her life, the most recent being a clerk in the Admitting Department at Griffin Hospital. She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Karl of Terryville and Carol Small of Wallingford, a brother, Robert Servaes (Kay) of MA, grandchildren, Colin Karl and Liz Youman, sister in law, Tahira Servaes, several nieces and nephews, and her canine friend, Poochie. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Servaes. Visiting hours for Winnie will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 4-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service and celebration of Winnie's life will take place with Pastor Daniel Rubelmann officiating. Burial will be private.
