In eerdere versies van deze stamboom werd aangenomen dat Jan Gerritsz Schepen tweemaal een zoon Dirk heeft gehad waarbij de eerste zoon op of kort voor 19-12-1727 zou zijn overleden. Echter, ondanks uitgebreid archiefonderzoek is er geen Dirk (Jansz) Scheepen, geboren ca. 1728 gevonden. De meest plausibele verklaring hiervoor is dat er op of kort voor 19-12-1727 een kind van Jan is geboren dat òf dood ter wereld is gekomen, òf dat het zo kort heeft geleefd dat het niet gedoopt is. Zulke situaties kwamen heel regelmatig voor.
