Gekend figuur overleden te Pervijze;
In de ouderdom van 70 jaar overleed de h. Hector Scheirsen, wonende Veurnestraat. Hij was een gekend figuur op de gemeente en in de streek. Vele jaren maakte hij deel uit van de gemeenteraad en laatst ook van de COO. In het ontspanningsleven was hij zeer aktief, vooral ald duivenliefhebber. Hij was sedert lang voorzitter van de maatschappij "De IJzervlieger" en voorzitter der biljartklub "Krijt op tijd". Hector Scheirsen was drager van verschillende eretekens welke hij ontving om bewezen diensten aan het vaderland tijdens de jongste wereldoorlog.
