- Uittreksel uit: Herbergen uit de jaren 20. Halverwege 1970 verscheen "De herbergen uit de jaren '20" van de hand van A. Dawyndt, voorzitter van de heemkundige kring "Bachten de Kupe".
Toen waren er in Pervijze nog 7 herbergen: Druivenhof, St Martin, In 'tHandelshuis, de Gouden Leeuw, De Zwaan, 't Brouwershof en 't Vissershuis. Daarvan zijn er ondertussen ook al geschiedenis geworden. Blijkbaarwas het uitbaten van een herberg vroeger heel wat meer leefbaar dan nuwant in 1924 waren er te Pervijze maar liefst 31 herbergen.
Enkele huizen voorbij de "In de Kuiperij" vonden we Camiel Scheirsen "In de Slachter", titel rap gevonden voor een beenhouwer als Camiel.
