Tiegem rouwt om zuster Benedicta.
Te Tiegem werd de kloosterzuster Benedicta (98) onder grote belangstelling ten grave gedragen. De kloosterlinge leerde er de dorpelingen van 1924 tot 1950 lezen schrijven en piano spelen.
Zuster Benedicta was 27 jaar kleuteronderwijzeres te Tiegem waar ze ruim een halve eeuw leefde en werkte. Ze werd te Pervijze geboren op 15 april 1881, en trad in het klooster der zusters van Liefde te Roeselare. Ze werd kleuteronderwijzeres en oefende dit beroep uit te Poelkapelle, Schore, Ruiselede, Poezlkapelle en Tiegem. Na Vichte blijft nu ook Tiegem van de viering van een eeuwelinge verstoken.
