Het huwelijk van Johannes B. Vasseur met Dirkje Willems wordt pas na het vonnis van de rechtbank op 1 oktober 1875 ontbonden vanwege kwaadwillige verlating. J.B. Vasseur woont dan in Patterson in de staat New Jersey (Amerika).
