Judocus Staes werd geboren op 14 juli 1659 in Verrebroek en werd daar op 16 juli gedoopt, met Judocus Spruyt en een onbekende le Februe als getuigen. Hij was de zoon van Egidius Staes en Joanna Spruyt. Op 22 juni 1685, op 25-jarige leeftijd, trad hij in het huwelijk met Joanna Blommaert. Hun ondertrouw vond plaats op 12 juni 1685, met Joannes Bonte en Joanna Spruyt als getuigen. Na drie afkondigingen op 12, 17 en 21 juni, werd hun huwelijk voltrokken in Verrebroek, met Joannes Bonte en Laurentius van den Steen als getuigen.


Judocus overleed op 18 januari 1720 in Verrebroek op 60-jarige leeftijd en werd de volgende dag begraven.


Uit het huwelijk van Judocus en Joanna werden vier kinderen geboren:
