Egidius Staes werd rond 1634 geboren en overleed op 2 februari 1688 in Kieldrecht, waar hij ook begraven werd. Op 22 september 1658 trad hij in het huwelijk met JoannaSpruyt, vermoedelijk geboren rond 1640 in Kieldrecht. Na zijn overlijden hertrouwde Joanna op 5 juni 1688 met Philippus Thierens. Zij overleed op 9 januari 1690 in Kieldrecht.


Uit het huwelijk van Egidius en Joanna werden vier kinderen geboren:


    ="462" data-start="449">Catharina (1661-1685), overleden op 24-jarige leeftijd.Doopgetuigen: Michael Staes & Catharina de Royetrong data-end="525" data-start="513">Adrianus (1663). Doopgetuigen Adrianus Staes & Elisabeth Schaepdryversd="548" data-start="538">Joanna (1665-1682), overleden op 16-jarige leeftijd. Doopgetuigen Joannes van der Muelen & Catharina van der Muelendata-start="598" data-is-only-node="" data-is-last-node="">Egidius en Joanna bouwden hun gezin op in Verrebroek en Kieldrecht, maar hun kinderen kenden helaas een wisselend lot, waarbij sommigen jong overleden.


    Bij de geboortegetuigen treed ene Elisabeth Schaepdryvers op. Dit is familie langs moeders kant (Joanna Spruyt), vermits er ene Judocus Spruyt gehuwd was met Catharina Schaepdryvers. . Het is dus mogelijk de moeder van Joanna Spruyt.


     


    Verder treed ook Michael Staes en Catelijne de Roye op. Mogelijk is dit Michiel Staes (geboren te Barel op 25/03/1642) zoon van Egidius en Catelijne Van Roeyen (eveneens een doopheffer in 1661). Uit dit huwelijk: 1.PETRUS ° Bazel 12.2.1639 2.PETRUS ° Bazel 21.11.1639 3.MICHAEL ° Bazel 25.3.1642 4.ADRIAAN ° Bazel 25.3.1642
