Philippus Staes werd geboren op 9 februari 1689 in Verrebroek en werd daar op 10 februari gedoopt, met Philippus Tielens en Catharina Strobbant als getuigen. Hij was de zoon van Judocus Staes en Joanna Blommaert. Op 1 juni 1710, op 21-jarige leeftijd, trad hij in het huwelijk met Joanna Van Broeckhoven, die rond 1687 werd geboren. Samen kregen ze vijf kinderen. Helaas overleed Joanna op 1 mei 1725 op 38-jarige leeftijd en werd de volgende dag begraven in Verrebroek.


 


Niet lang daarna, op 29 juni 1725, hertrouwde Philippus in Sint-Pauwels met Catharina Puylaert, geboren rond 1690. Uit dit huwelijk werden vijf kinderen geboren. Philippus overleed op 21 oktober 1745 in Verrebroek, op 56-jarige leeftijd, en werd de volgende dag begraven. Zijn tweede echtgenote, Catharina, overleed drie jaar later, op 24 oktober 1748, en werd eveneens in Verrebroek ter ruste gelegd.


 


Uit zijn eerste huwelijk met Joanna Van Broeckhoven werden de volgende kinderen geboren:


 


    start="1097" data-end="1122">Elisabeth (1713).(1716).nd="1200">Joannes Baptista (1722-1727), die op vierjarige leeftijd overleed.

    Uit zijn tweede huwelijk met Catharina Puylaert kwamen de volgende kinderen voort:


     


      data-end="1457">Joanna Petronella (1727-1728), die op 20 dagen overleed.nd="1478">Anna Catharina (1729), die op acht maanden stierf.="1542" data-end="1565">Andreas (1732).

They got married on June 1, 1710 at Verrebroek, he was 21 years old.
