Josse Van Landeghem en Isabella De Ryck (Tekst & onderzoek door Mathieu Peeters)
In de winter van 1705 werd Josse Van Landeghem geboren als tweede kind van Jan-Antoon en Anneken Volckerinck. Zijn moeder, Anneken, overleed amper 11 maand zijn geboorte. Josse ging aan de slag alsherbergier in “t’ claveren aes" te Beveren.
Wanneer Josse 21 jaar oud was, huwde hij in Beveren met de drie jaar jongere Isabella De Ryck. In 1728 werd in Beveren hun eerste kind geboren, Paschasius. Nadien volgde Josse (1730), Amelberga (1732) en Catharina (1734). In 1734 overleed Isabella De Ryck haar vader. Isabella’s jongste zus, Amelberga De Ryck stond sinds die dag onder voogdij van Isabella en Josse Van Landeghem.
Josse en Isabella kregen in 1737 opnieuw een zoon, Anthony (1737). Nadien volgde er nog 7 andere kinderen: Pieter-Frans (1739), Jacques (1742), Jan (1744), Petrus-Matheus (1745), Michiel (1746), Louis-Ferdinand (1749) en Servaes (1754). Ieder van hen werd geboren en gedoopt in Beveren. De kleine Petrus-Matheus uit 1745 werd maar 2 dagen oud en de jongste telg van het gezin, Servaes werd 6maand oud. De rest van het gezin bereikte wel hun volwassen leeftijd.
In 1759 stierf Josse van Landeghem in Beveren, zijn vrouw Isabella De Ryck bleef zorgen voor de kinderen. In datzelfde jaar huwde hun zoon, die ook de naam Josse heeft, in Temse met AmelbergaVan Mieghem. Eén jaar later huwde de oudste van het gezin, Paschasius in Kieldrecht met Maria De Volder. Maar deze trok nadien ook naar Temse. Dochter Amelberga ging ook naar Temse terwijl haar zus naar Haasdonk trekt om daar als landbouwster aan de slag te gaan. In 1765, zes jaar na het overlijden van Josse, stierf de weduwe Isabella te Beveren. Haar drie jongste zonen Joannes (1744), Michael (1746), Louis Ferdinand (1749) werden geplaatst bij hun oudste broer, Paschasius en bij Jan Colaes. De andere zoon Anthony vertrok naar Zwijndrecht terwijl Pieter-Frans in Beveren bleef. Jacques volgde zijn oudere broer Josse en trok naar Temse.
