De 1e vrouw van Gerrit wordt ten onrechte Geertrude genoemd. Zij is weliswaar een dochter van Ricout Ricoutsz Stuep en Lysbeth Hendricksdr van Baern maar haar voornaam is onbekend! Geertrude berust op een leesfout / verkeerde interpretatie. In de bewuste (en enige?) bron staat dat Ricout Ricoutsz en zijn vrouw Lysbeth Henricksdr van Baern op 9 september 1424 testeren dat 'Ricout Ricout soens dochter voir? Geryt Rutgers soens van Hilhorst horen getrude wijf' na hun dood acht stukken grond ontvangen (HUA, Paulusabdij te Utrecht, toegangsnr. 85-1 inv.nr. 376, fol. lxxxiij verso [scan 101/112]). De naam Gertrude is destijds door archivaris Van Kalveen, auteur van de inventaris van de Paulusabdij Utrecht, abusievelijk in de bronbeschrijving opgenomen! Jos G.M. Hilhorst heeft in zijn artikel in Gens Nostra 2014-8 de naam Gertrude, na overleg met Reinier Hilhorst, terloops aangekaart en in twijfel getrokken. - Bron: Historicus Reinier Hilhorst.
