Margriet van Egmond wordt vaak als zijn vermeende echtgenote/weduwe opgevoerd. Helaas ontbreekt altijd een vermelding van een te verifiëren middeleeuwse bron, als bewijs waar men deze informatie gevonden heeft. Ik (historicus Reinier Hilhorst) heb een goede fles wijn over voor diegene die mij deze gegevens kan leveren. Ik heb ze nog nergens gevonden, terwijl ik veel middeleeuwse bronnen binnenstebuiten heb gekeerd. Vooralsnog is er nooit enig bewijs gevonden uit welke familie Margriet is voortgesproten. Daarom hoort zij derhalve aangeduid te worden als Margriet N.N. - Bron Historicus Reinier Hilhorst.

Zoon Huijbert Meijnsz Hilhorst is mogelijk geen zoon van Margriet maar uit een eerder huwelijk van Meijns Hilhorst. Echter gezien trouwdatum van de ouders en geboortedatum van de zoon heb ik de koppeling gemaakt. André Ottenhoff.
Zoon Gerrit Meijnsz daarentegen is vrijwel zeker van Margriet. - Bron: Historicus Reinier Hilhorst.
Omdat het bewijs ontbreekt, maar ook het bewijs ontbreekt dat Margriet Albrechts van Egmond NIET de bedoelde echtgenote/weduwe is, heb ik in deze stamboom beide Margrieten opgenomen, en vooralsnog beide zonen gekoppeld aan Margriet Albrechts van Egmond. André Ottenhoff.
