blijkens de stukken van Strick(1575) dienden de drie oudste zoons van Jacob Prenger onder de hopman Jacob Huisingh onder de graven van Aremberg en Megen
Jacob Prenger, als richter van Bellingwolde vermeld 1529-1555 overleden in Wedde op 24 november 1571 trouwt voor 30 november 1530 met Anna (von) Dorgelo zij overlijd in Bellingwolde ca 28 maart 1571 is de dochter van Wulfert von Dorgelo. Vanaf 11 november 1529 tot 1555 komt hij veelvuldig voor als richter van Bellingwolde. Van hem bleven ook enkele zegels bewaard, het hoenderregister noemt hem tot 1571/1572 daarna zijn weduwe Anna en in 1574/1575 zijn zoon Jacob Prenger, dan is er een hiaat enkomt in 1588/1589 Apalonia Prenger in het register. In een onbekend jaar beklaagt Jacob zich bij de landsheer de Ligne dat hij door drost Hans Hesse gevangen is gezet, wegens een vermeende valse brief, op 14 november wordt Jacob Prenger de oude verhoord (geexaminert), op 13 november is zijn zoon, den Jungen Jacob Prenger tho Wedde geexamineert, "oft ehr de breeff gescr hadde, want de scrift des rieves syn handt seer verglyketh.Op 24 november anno 1571 is Jacob Prenger gestorven, de drost meldt het overlijden aan de gravin van Arenberg en vraagt hoe hiermee te handelen, kort daarop op 2 januari 1572 wenst de drost zich weer tot de gravin met de mededeling dat de weduwe en kinderen Prenger zich wenden tot de Stadhouder van Stad en Ommelanden, het verdere verloop is onbekend.Kwam Jacob blijkbaar ellendig aan zijn einde, kort voordien in 1586 had hij moeten doorstaan dat de troepen van Lodewijk van Nassau hem gevangen namen. Voor 1530 huwde hij Anna van Dorgelo en maken zij te Emden hun testament
