Damesconfectiebedrijf Jacobé
Maandag heeft in perceel SintGeertruikerkhof 12, alhier de officiële opening plaats gehad
van het Dames-Confectiebedrijf Jacobé. Na een H. Mis in de Sacramentskerk verzamelden de di-
rectie, de heer H. J. Jacobs en echtgenote en de comm. vennoot de heer Kessels uit Eindhoven
met genodigden en personeel om 11 uur zich in de feestelijk versierde bedrijfszaal
Onder de aanwezigen merkten wij op wethouder van Soestbergen, als vertegenwoordiger van het ge-
meentebestuur. De directeur, de heer H. J.Jacobs, memoreerde de geschiedenis van het bedrijf en wees
daarbij op de samenwerkende verhoudingen tussen werkgever en werknemer. De heer Kessels
zei zijn algehele samenwerking toe en wees op het belang van de arbeid in dit bedrijf, omdat de
kleding zoo’n belangrijke plaats inneemt in de dagelijkse behoeften. Wethouder van Soestbergen
schetste zijn waardering voor de samenwerking tussen patroon en arbeiders en voor de arbeid op
deze grondslag en zeide dat het gemeentebestuur evenveel belangstelling heeft voor de klein-
industrie als voor de grote.
Namens het personeel bood met hartelijke bewoordingen de heer v.d. Heuvel fraaie geschenken aan.
De heer Jacobs dankte hierna wethouder Van Soestbergen en het personeel.
Hierna werdén ververschingen aangeboden. Van 1 tot 2 uur had in het versierde bedrijfsgebouw een receptie
plaats tijdens welke naast zakenrelaties, ook geestelijke en enkele burgerlijke autoriteiten hun
opwachting maakten.
Om 5 uur had in het Paviljoen van de Ijzeren Man een diner plaats, dat door de directie aan het
personeel was aangeboden, besloten met een gezellig samenzijn. Onder de felicitaties was er
ook een van H.K.H. Prinses Juliana. Vele fraaie bloemstukken getuigden van grote belangstel-
ling. Het nieuwe bedrijf is zeer comfortabel ingericht en omvat de fabricatie van dames-con-
fectie inde ruimste zin van het woord, zowel voor het binnenland als voor export. Doel is zoo
snel mogelijk op voór-oorlogse capaciteit terug te komen.
