hij begon zijn loopbaan als jongmaatje loodgieter bij de firma Touw teRotterdam en werkte zich snel op tot loodgieter. Daarna verhuisde hijmet zijn gezin naar Alphen aan den Rijn waar hij werkte bij de firmaVerhoef. hij was daar niet alleen loodgieter, gasfitter maar leerde ookhet electrovak erbij.Daarna zette hij zijn loopbaan verder in Alkmaarbij de firma de Vries; daar leerde hij het verwarmingsvak. Vervolgensverhuisde ze naar Bergen (NH). Hij had tevens een eigen werkplaats inDen Helder waar hij op de Marine-basis werkte met het aanleggen vanverwarming. Tijdens de tweede wereldoorlog werkte hij op vliegvelden inNederland, Frankrijk en Rusland met het aanleggen vanverwarmingsinstallaties. Eind 1944 is hij voor zichzelf begonnen. ZijnElectro- technisch bureau en loodgietersbedrijf stond in Haarlem maarhij werkte door het gehele land.
