Adolf Löwenhardt en Julia Löwenhardt-ten Brink die van 22 april 1943 tot 9 oktober 1944 (Adolfs 61e verjaardag) in Theresienstadt gevangen zaten.

Adolf Löwenhardt was geboren in een joods slagersgezin in Oberhemer dat uiteindelijk 12 kinderen zou tellen. Hij was in de Eerste Wereldoorlog Duits hospitaalsoldaat en ook zijn acht broers waren onder de wapenen. Zij hebben die oorlog allen overleefd, maar vijf broers, daaronder Adolf, werden in de Tweede Wereldoorlog door de nazi’s vermoord.

Adolf keerde in juni 1917 terug uit Lotharingen, 30 procent oorlogsinvalide. Ruim twee jaar later werd hun tweede zoon geboren, Werner.
