Huwelijk werd enige malen uitgesteld wegens overlijden van schoonvader.
Jan Teisman leerde zijn "Trientje" kennen,doordat zij met haar vader, (dit was één van de zovele BOESKOOLBOEREN) mee ging naar de grote stad Groningen, om daar zijn handel: Diverse koolsoorten aan de man te brengen. Dit lukte zowel met koolsoorten alsmede, met zijn dochter(s) die werd(en) er daar dan ook maar aan de man gebracht.....
Jan en Trientjen hadden 8 dochters en ook nog 3 zonen. Tussen de oudste en de jongste zat een leeftijdsverschil van 19 jaar. In 1926 werd hij gehuldigd als EERSTE PORTIER van TUINWIJCK (Tuinvereniging)hij was 75 jaar en trots als een pauw.. Hier zijn diverse kranten artikelen van gemaakt..(Hij kreeg een “BEWERKTE KACHEL “cadeau. Ook waren ze in 1902 vijf en twintig jaar gehuwd, in 1927 vijftig jaar gehuwd. En in 1932 was het weer feest ..55 jaar gehuwd!!! (ECHTVEREENIGING) !!Alleen het jaartal 1932 klopte niet,zij waren toen 56 jaar getrouwd !!!!!! (gehuwd 1876+55 = 1931)Maar ja een foutje kan voorkomen,nietwaar ??Maar toch op alle data’s werd feest gevierd. Deze Jan werd bijna 85 jaar oud.
