Papiermolenaar op de Ruitermolen I,Jan erfde de Ruitermolen van zijn ouders.Naast de molen had Jan ook wat land in zijn bezit,en 4 koeien,
De uitvoerige inventaris,die in juni 1789 van de boedel werd opgesteld,noemt aan onroerend goed behalve d papiermolen een aantal perceln land.Er waren vier koeien,het nodige landbouwgereedschap;huisraad en kleding getuigden van een zekere WELSTAND.De vierbaks molen was van de normale bescheiden omvang:één kuip,twee paar vormen en één post vilten.Ongeveer 700 riem papier lag gereed. De schulden-hoofdzakelijk aan Gijsbert Middelburg te Deventer voor lompen-bedroegen ruim 1000 gld.
