Joseph Aron was samen met zijn broer Mozes Aron (1887) en zijn neven, zonen van David Israèel, directeur van de vleesfabriek en de asfaltfabriek van de Zendijks in Olst: zie onder David Israèel (1857).

Koeien kwamen vanaf het station Olst richting slachthuis gelopen, waar Joop (1890) en Aaron (1875-1943) Zendijk klaar stonden om ze in de stallen te drijven. Varkens werden meestal met paard en wagen aangevoerd en kwamen uit de wijde omgeving, voo ral van de keuterboertjes op de Veluwe; vandaar de naam Gelderse Rookworst.
