Bombardement 22 februari - Schoenenwinkel Holland 22 februari 1944

Ria Holland-Giepmans, dochter van Petrus J. en Wilhelmina Giepmans, woonde met echtgenoot Albertus J. Holland en vijf kinderen boven hun schoenenzaak aan de Houtstraat 12, nu Plein 1944.

Op de 22e februari '44 kreeg het huis een voltreffer en daarbij kwamen Ria en drie van haar kinderen, Helma, Ria en Albert, om het leven.
Haar dochtertje Therese was toevallig uit logeren,
haar man was net naar het schuurtje gelopen en daardoor
bleven deze twee in leven. Het jongste zoontje Robbie overleefde
de ramp doordat zijn ledikantje door een stuk plafond bleef afgedekt.
Het jongetje werd door een passerend meisje in veiligheid gebracht.
