This was one of the twins pictured in the package from Sharon. The label stated Children of Herman Scholten.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13 at the Alton Reformed Church. The Rev. Roger Voskuil officiated. Burial followed at Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City. Margaret Minnie was born July 14, 1906 at Alton, the daughter of Herman and Nellie (Den Hartog) Scholten. She lived her entire life on the Scholten family farm near Alton.
She was a lifetime member of the Alton Reformed Church.Survivors inlude a brother, John Scholten of Alton; two sisters, Jeanette Riedeman and Nelvina Scholten, both of Orange City; a sister-in-law, Minnie Scholten of Alton; and nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Scholten; two sisters, Bernice Jasper, and her twin, Minnie Scholten; a half-brothers, Simon Scholten; and three half-sisters, Ann Langstraat, Abby Geurink and Grace De Boer.Sioux County Capital - 16 January 1997
