"Er war nach Giesebrechts (Mirow)Tode der Senior der Strel. Geistlichkeit. Auch war er der einzigePrediger des Landes, der noch eine Lockenperücke trug, dergleichen ernach damaliger Sitte aller Theologen beim Abgange von der Universitätschon von Halle mitgebracht hatte. Wahrscheinlich konnte er sich zurAblegung dieser Kopfbedeckung nach dem Beispiele anderer deshalb nichtentschließen, weil er nachteilige Folgen für seine Gesundheitfürchtete. Nie aber hat man Spott oder Sticheleien auf ihn deswegengehört, vielmehr war er allen wegen seiner gefälligen undunbescholtenen Sitten sowie wegen seiner tüchtigen Amtsführung einGegenstand der Achtung und aufrichtiger Liebe."
