    Van groot belang is de mededeling in Van Eeghen’s vraag
    uit 1948 dat een broer van Marijcke Bartholomeus, namelijk Gooswijn, getrouwd was’ geweest met jonkvr. Anna van Lathem (zuster van Heer Charles van Lathem) en dat er uit dat huwelijk twee zonen waren: Bartholomeus en Cornelis, over wie oom Jan Munter in 1609 de voogdij aanvaardde.
    Nu bijkt er volgens het tijdschrift Brabantica VI, le deel, Brussel 1962, blz. 87/8, Oude geslachten uit het land van Gaasbeek (juncto J. Th. de Raadt, Sceaux Armoriés des Pays-Bas,, 11, Brussel 1900, blz. 316 en 319) in Brussel een oude patriciërsfamilie Van Lathem te hebben bestaan, met een Arnould van Lathem, schepen van Brussel 1545; Corneel (Corneille) Van Lathem, schepen van Brussel 1546, en Caerl (Charles) van Lathem, chevalier, seigneur de Court-SaintEtienne, schepen van Brussel 1596. Het lijkt zelfs heel waarschijnlijk dat deze laatste, Charles van Lathem, identiek is met de door Van Eeghen genoemde ,,Heer Charles van Lathem”, broer van jonkvr. Anna van Lathem, die bij Gooswijn Bartholomeus twee zonen had, met de voornamen Bartholomeus en C o r n e 1 i s (vernoemd naar ,,grootvader” Corneel van Lathem, schepen van Brussel 1546 ?) .
