    De oudste familie Vlasblom - welke ik geslacht 1 heb genoemd - stamt van de naar schatting ca 1590 geboren Tobias Cornelisz, die ik evenwel nimmer met een familienaam vermeld heb gevonden. Pas zijn kleinkinderen gingen de naam Vlasblom voeren en vooral in de achttiende eeuw ging dit geslacht zich vertakken, waardoor er heden ten dage nog talrijke afstammelingen leven (198)

    Voor de eerste maal vond ik (auteur) Tobias vermeld in een akte van 3.5.1622, toen hij als belender werd genoemd van een stuk land onder Heerjansdamr. Ook in akten gedateerd 20.5.1622 en 2.3.1644 komt hij als zodanig voor. Blijkens een hierna nog te noemen akte van 20.5.1654 moet Tobias - en wellicht ook zijn vrouw, wier naam ik niet heb kunnen achterhalen - vóór die datum zijn gestorven. Een akte van 24.4.1656 spreekt van ,,de kinder van Tobjas Corn(elisz) woonen tot Heerjansdam” als belenders in Heerjansdam4, ongetwijfeld met ouderlijk erfgoed.
