    Paulus van de Perre, schepen Middelburg 1636, raad 1638, 41-44, burgemeester 1640, secretaris 1645-51, pensionaris 1650-53 en ambassadeur Engeland 1651 (en opnieuw in 1653), geboren te Middelburg in het jaar 1598, overleden te Londen op 14 december 1653.
    Door Tholen genomineerd als bewindhebber WIC als opvolger van Lieven van Vrijberghe maar de griffier van de rekenkamer Huyghen werd gekozen. Hij compareerde samen met Pieter van de Velde en mr. Theodorus Bovel op 31 aug. 1637 in Tholen om een opvolger voor de overleden Lieven van Vrijberghe te helpen kiezen tot bewindhebber WIC voor Tholen. De andere kiezers, secretaris van Vrijberghe en oud- burgmeester mr. Jona Decrouver (?) zijn echter ‘van huis’ (RAZE 5179, 13 okt. 1637).
    Paulus is getrouwd te Middelburg op 10 mei 1628 voor de kerk met Clara Teelinck, geboren te Middelburg op 27 april 1608, begraven aldaar op 18 juni 1633, dochter van Eewoud Teelinck en Helena van Zuydtlandt
