Op de laatste drie dopen na werd de vader altijd onder patroniem in het doopboek opgetekend. Bij Pieter als Grootvandorst en bij de laatste twee als Grootendorst. Zijn volwassen geworden kinderen gingen onder de laatstgenoemde naam door het leven en hebben het geslacht voortgezet.
