    Wellicht was stamvader Cornelis Cornelisz. de vader van meer kinderen, waarbij gedacht moet worden aan nog een dochter Bastiaantje, die dan op 3-9-1671 te Charlois als doopgetuige optrad bij een kind van Comelis Cornelisz. Barendregt. Vrij intensief onderzoek heeft evenwel geen verdere gegevens opgeleverd over deze oudere groep Barendregt te Charlois. In elk geval dient er rekening gehouden te worden met de mogelijkheid dat Leentje, de vrouw van Joris Pietersz., tot deze familie behoordkan hebben, waarbij dan niet alleen de familierelatie tussen hun zoon Cornelis en Willem Barendregt verklaard zou kunnen worden, doch bovendien ook de herkomst van de familienaam Barendregt in hun gezin en bij hun nakomelingschap.
