Ouwerkerk ca. 1592; lidmaat te Stavenisse (met zijn eerste vrouw) op 11-7-1620; landbouwer; schepen (tenminste van 1623-1629, 16321639 en 1647); armmeester (in 1631) en diaken (in 1618) te Stavenisse; werd 1-101620 door de kerkeraad berispt wegens niet-deelnemen aan het avondmaal; geïnformeerd werd naar de oorzaak “ende sal daer benevens worden vermaent alle swaricheden” (notulen kerkeraad Ned. Geref. Kerk Stavenisse 1617-1629, fol. 6 v); kocht op 20-12-1629 van Arijns Pluimpot (oud-burgemeester van Brouwershaven) 32 gemeten en 195 roeden moer en weideland (genaamd Serwout) in de Oud- Kempenhofstede-polder te Stavenisse (Popkenshouck, het achtste blok van de polder); trad tussen 1624 en 1663 vele malen op als pachter van grond in de Oud- Kempenshofstede-polder en als borg bij pachttransacties; tussen 1656 en 1660 wordt een blok in deze polder naar hem genoemd (RAZE 5936, div. plaatsen; zie index D. Roozemond en J.F. Stoutjesdijk, ZA, Gen. Afsch. 198); leefde nog 16-7-1663 (idem, fol. 171); is verm. identiek met Cornelis Quist die door Cornelis Colle “in zijn armoede” gedurende de winter van 1650 is gehuisvest, en waarvoor Colle van de diaconie 17 sch. en 8 gr. ontving (inv. arch. Ned. Herv. Gemeente Stavenisse, nr. 33); Cornelis testeerde te Bergen op Zoom 12-5-1661 (bij notaris Govaert Stempel, RHC Bergen op Zoom, inv. nr. 85, 1661); hij legateerde aan zijn jongstezoon Johannes Cornelissen (voortgekomen uit zijn tweede huwelijk) £ 25; alle resterende goederen moesten verdeeld worden over zijn voor- en nakinderen; overl. tussen 20-12-1666 en

    2-8-1667 (RAZE 5900, fol. 23 en 24); otr. (2) Stavenisse 9-9-1631, tr. (2) Scherpenisse Neelken Jans, wed. Crijn Lomssen van Westkerke (Neelken overl. vóór 12-5-1661); tr. (1) Stavenisse 4-9-1616.

    2253. Janneke Jansdr. (Jonckswager), geb. Middelburg; woonde in Kempenshofstede (1616); vermeld als lidmaat Stavenisse 11-7-1620; overl. Stavenisse tussen 18-111630 en 20-2-1631 (RAZE 5898, fol. 115 v) (Van Zeeuwse Stam, dec. 1993, p.231).
