Notes about Ippe Konings

Ippe Konings groeide op in Amsterdam (1933-1941, Indische Buurt en Dapperbuurt) en Haarlem (1941-1942). Hij was enig kind. Tussen 1942 en 1947 woonde hij met zijn ouders op het landgoed Auberghof bij het dorpje Trittau, net buiten Hamburg, alwaar zijn vader werkte als tuinman. Twee jaar na het einde van de oorlog hij en zijn ouders terug naar Haarlem waar zij zich vestigden aan de Vondelweg. In Haarlem volbracht Ippe de HBS-B. Daarna studeerde hij vier jaar aan de HTS in Amsterdam. Na zijn studie vervulde hij zijn militaire dienst. Hij werkte zijn hele leven in de aannemerij bij verschillende bedrijven. Tussen 1957 en 1975 was hij getrouwd met zijn eerste vrouw. Met haar kreeg hij twee zonen. In 1962 woonden zij een half jaar in Nigeria (Port Harcourt, Lagos) en in 1963 woonden zij ook een klein jaar in Hongkong. In december 1963 vertrokken zijn vrouw en kinderen zonder hem terug naar Nederland. Ippe keerde in 1965 ook terug naar Nederland. Hij trok in 1966 weer in bij zijn gezin, in Amstelveen. In 1972 verhuisden zij naar Badhoevedorp. Twee jaar later verliet hij zijn gezin voor zijn tweede vrouw. Met zijn tweede vrouw en diens kinderen woonde hij een tijdje op Aruba, maar de meeste jaren brachten ze door in Reeuwijk. In 1988 verliet hij ook zijn tweede vrouw en vertrok hij naar Leeds, Engeland. Aldaar woonde hij nog een kleine tien jaar samen met zijn vriendin. Hij overleed een maand na zijn pensionering aan uitgezaaide darmkanker. Officieel scheidde hij nooit van zijn tweede vrouw.
