Notes about Marinus van Dinther

Het huwelijk vond plaats in Sint Michielsgestel op 14 mei 1886. Het gezin was niet arm te noemen. Het kon redelijk rondkomen. Dit in tegenstelling tot zijn voorouders waarvan voorzichtig gezegd magworden dat deze tot de onderste laag van de maatschappij behoorden. Gezien de betrekking die Martinus had bij Grasso (een baan waarbij lezen en schrijven een vereiste was) kan hij voor die tijd als redelijk intelligent worden gezien. Het gezin woonde lange tijd aan de Loonsebaan te Vught. Elisabeth moet een sterke vrouw zijn geweest, daar zij maar liefst 18 kinderen baarde, waarvan er 3 levenlooswerden geboren. Marinus werd door loting vrijgesteld om zijn militaire dienstplicht te vervullen. Elisabeth sterft op 59 jarige leeftijd in Vught op 19 juli 1923. In haar laatste levensjaren had zij te kampen met een ernstige maag- en darmkanker en is thuis overleden. Drie jaar later overlijd Marinus aan een fatale beroerte, 64 jaar oud op 27 april 1927 te Vught. Marinus had al diverse beroertes gehad en werd in zijn laatste jaren thuis verzorgd en verpleegd, vooral door zijn dochter Anna, die toen nog thuis woonde. Marinus is gekend als een zachtaardige en hardwerkende man die alles besprak met zijn echtgenote.

Ook aan Elisabeth worden die eigenschappen toegerekend. Het paar vormde een hechte eenheid in hun streven om hun kinderen gezond en gelukkig op te voeden.
