Kort oorlogsverslag Eltje Wubbena

Eltje Wubbena is geboren in Winschoten, hij was schoenmaker van beroep en woonde aan de Hereweg in Groningen, waar hij ook zijn werkplaats had. Hij is gehuwd op 24 november 1910 in Groningen met Auktje Mensinga, het echtpaar kreeg twee kinderen, Jan en Siemtje. Siemtje was gehuwd met Klaas Bouma, die actief was in het verzet en met name zeer bedreven in het vervalsen van documenten. De SD was getipt dat er bij Wubbena mogelijk iemand van het verzet aanwezig zou zijn, ze zochten dus Klaas Bouma, zijn schoonzoon. Omdat Eltje niet snel genoeg antwoord gaf op de vraag waar Klaas was, hebben ze hem standrechtelijk in zijn werkplaats doodgeschoten , 15 september 1944. Eltje en Auktje hebben uiteindelijk hun rust gevonden op het Ereveld in Loenen, vak B, nr. 456
