      Christiaan Cuijpers en Geertruida Lamers woonden in een woninkje aan de Rijksweg in Milsbeek, op het huidige terrein van Transportbedrijf Emons, waar inmiddels een groot kantoorgebouw is verrezen.

      Geertruida Lamers huurde na het overlijden van haar man een kamer bij een particulier aan de Zwarteweg.
      (Mede) omdat ze daar weg moest, kocht haar zoon Tinus Cuijpers een woning aan het Sprokkelveld in 1921. Daar heeft ze nog 7 jaar bij haar zoon en diens gezin gewoond.

      De laatste jaren van haar leven had zij een open been waardoor zij veel zorg nodig had. Ze werd bij voorkeur verzorgd door haar favoriete kleindochter Truus Cuijpers. Truus (Geertruda) is naar haar vernoemd.

      Naar verluidt had Geertruida geen goede band met haar schoondochter Trui Inpermann.
