Pierre Seguin en Anna Orcière zouden circa 1687 nog een zoon Jean hebben gehad, die circa 1689 zou zijn overleden. Het is onwaarschijnlijk dat ze twee zoons Jean tegelijk hebben gehad; òf het is de eerste Jean (1676- ) die jong is overleden, of de tweede Jean (1687-1689) berust op een vergissing.

Op 06-10-1740 machtigt Jean Seguin bij notariële machtiging zijn vrouw Jeanne Peluchon voor al zijn zaken, blijkbaar ivm reis met de Maria Magdalena naar Amerika. Op 11-10-1741 wordt de machtiging herhaald.
