Schout en secretaris van Burgh. In 1788 afgezet wegens verduistering. Vestigde zich vervolgens in Zierikzee en vluchtte later naar Frankrijk, waar toen zijn dochter en schoonzoon Martina x Willem woonden (en ook overleden zijn). Volgens andere bronnen is Aart naar Duinkerken uitgeweken vanwege zijn patriottische gezindheid.
