Na zijn studies in Soesterberg en Uden begon hij in 1933 zijn noviciaat bij de svd in Helvoirt. Vlak voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog, in augustus 1939, wordt hij te Teteringen priester gewijd. Als hij in juni 1940 zijn theologische opleiding voltooit, is Nederland inmiddels door de Duitsers bezet en is daardoor vertrek naar de missie uitgesloten. Cor was al benoemd voor India. Daarom benut hij de oorlogsjaren voor studie van de indiase kultuur en de indo-iraanse letteren. In oktober slaagt hij voor het kandidaatsexamen.
Ruim een jaar later vertrekt hij naar Indore (India). In 1949 moet hij op doktersadvies repatriëren en in 1954 behaalt hij in Utrecht zijn doctorstitel. Naar India kan hij dan niet terug; dus wordt hij benoemd voor de universiteit van Cebu op de Philippijnen. Maar zijn gestel kan ook daar de hitte niet aan, en in 1957 keert Cor voorgoed naar Europa terug.
In 1960 behaalt hij in Nijmegen een twwede doctorstitel in de linguistiek. Hij doceert ethnologie en is tweemaal cursusleider op het Kontakt der Kontinenten in Soesterberg. In 1966 wordt hij tevens medewerker aan het Anthropos-Instituut. Ten gevolge van zijn niet sterke gezondheid én van zijn naar het perfectionisme neigende aard vond hij feitelijk negens zijn nest.
Op 1 oktober 1969 aanvaardt hij een pastoorsplaats in Wallerode en daar vindt hij zijn rust. Zeventien jaar vervult hij dit ambt met grote toewijding, tot zijn gezondheid hem in 1987 dwingt zijn intrek te nemen in het Bejaardencentrum Zuiderhout te Teteringen. Zijn verblijf aldaar duurt evenwel maar kort, want een goed jaar later maakt een nieroperatie een eind aan zijn leven.
