Landbouer Bartholomeusklip, Drakenstein. In 1727 as diaken van die gemeente Drakenstein voorgestel. In 1739, nadat Gideon oorlede is, het sy weduwee as gevolg van armoede, die Politieke Raad om uitstel vir die betaling van huurgeld gevra. Dit word afgelei dat hy ook nie 'n suksesvolle boer was nie.

SAG-joubert says he died 1738. I do not understand where the precise date of 1 Aug 1739 comes from...maybe Ahlers.
