Waar en wanneer het huwelijk tussen Alegonda en haar eerste man plaatsvond is onbekend; het komt niet in de klapper op huwelijken in de provincie Groningen (1750-1811) en het werd evenmin gesloten in de stad Groningen of in Vlissingen. Mogelijk werd het voltrokken in Spijk waar Alegonda's moeder vandaan kwam en waarheen zij misschien terugkeerde na het overlijden van haar man.(van Spijk ontbreekt het huwelijksprotocol waardoor een en ander lijkt te worden verklaart.

(2) She is married to Abraham Mallard.

Permission for the marriage has been obtained in Vlissingen, Zeeland, Nederland on June 20, 1789.
