Sjoerd de Vries Beroep: Boerenknecht en Mijnwerker SLP.
Hij zwierf als vrijgezel van melkknecht tot mijnwerker rond van de prov.Friesland naar Holland en terug naar Friesland en vandaar naar het ruhrgebied Dld.
Tijdens de oorlog werd het Ruhrgebied plat gebombardeerd en kwam hij naar Limburg, waar hij in 2-10-1948 het gezellenhuis te Eijgelshoven terecht kwam om op de mijn Julia te gaan werken.
In Rimburg leerde hij Anna kennen die reeds eerder haar vriend Jules Hermans bij een noodlottig ongeval als lid van de reddingsbrigade zijn leven in de mijn had verloren.
Zo kregen beide op latere leeftijd in 1949 toch nog een passend huwelijk.
Maar het boeren zat nog in zijn bloed als hobby had hij een halve are land die hij naast zijn werk met de hand bewerkte, 20 kippen en fokte daarbij ook nog over de 100 konijnen per jaar. Hij woonde
