    NIEUWSMA, Elizabeth, 79, of Lynden, died Saturday (July 27, 1985) at the Lynden Christian Rest Home. She was born in Lynden May 29, 1906 and was a lifelong resident of that community. Mrs. Nieuwsma was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church and a past member of the Golden Hour Circle and the Lynden Christian School Mothers Club. A homemaker, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, John Meeboer and Joe Nieuwsma. Survivors include a son, Hollis Meeboer of Lynden; two stepsons Herman Peter Nieuwsma and Melvin Ray Nieuwsma, Lynden; two stepdaughters, Willma Terpsma and Cecila Statema, Lynden; two grandsons; a granddaugther; a stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Second Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. A. Cammenga officiating. Burial in Monumenta Cemetery will precede the services at 1:30 p. m. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Gillies Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Lynden Christian Schools, 515 Drayton St., Lynden, WA 98264.
