Zat op de Openbare Lagere School aan de Breestraat (op de plaats van hetlatere 'Luxor'-theater), o.a. bij meester Van Lingen. Hij heeft alsbroodbezorger eerst gewerkt bij de coöperatie "De Eendracht" inVelsen-Noord. In de oorlog (1944) moest dit afgebroken worden. Hij heeftdaarna, tot aan zijn pensioen, gewerkt bij de coöperatie "AlgemeenBelang" in Beverwijk. Men mocht in die tijd niet vóór 's morgens 9.00uur brood uitventen. Albert begon dan 's morgens om 5.00 uur in debakkerij met allerlei werkzaamheden (zoals deeg snijden/afwegen). Dezeuren waren dan bijverdiensten in de vorm van overuren. Van 9.00-18.00uur was hij dan bezig met brood venten. Dit heeft hij eerst gedaan meteen handkar, later met paard en wagen, en weer later met een(motor)bakfiets. Het paard was "voor hem zelf", hetgeen betekende dathij ook zelf moest zorgen voor het voederen van het paard en hetverzorgen van de winterstalling. Hij is geridderd in de Orde van OranjeNassau (in brons) vanwege zijn 40-jarige dienstverband bij decoöperatie.
