Bij de loting voor de lichting der nationale militie van het jaar 1893voor de gemeente Beverwijk was Andries nr. 31 te deel gevallen hetgeenhem, buiten oproeping gebleven zijnde, hem tot geen dienst hadverplicht.
Op 10 maart 1893 wordt hij toch ingelijfd en wel bij het 2e reg. huzarenmet nr. 2 van de lichting 1893 uit Enkhuizen.
Op 23 maart 1894 wordt hij vervolgens hiervan weer ontslagen wegenslichaamsgebreken (H/28)
