    Door het ziektebed van Giel was het voor het gezin erg moeilijk om de eindjes aan elkaar te knopen. vanaf 15 nov 1942 totdecember 1943 kregen zij per week fl 3,00 onderstand om in hun onderhoud te voorzien. in 1944 van januari tot en met april en dan op 28 juni een bedrag van fl 25,-- voor onderstand vanaf 12-augustus 1944 wordt het bedrag wekelijks fl 6,00. op 31-12-1944 krijgen zij nog een bedrag van fl 25,00. in 1945 krijgen zij van januari tot en met december fl 6,00 per week op 13 januari en 3 februari van dat jaar krijgen zij respectievelijk fl 25,00 en 20,00 voorschot.
    In 1946 wordt het weekbedrag verhoogd naar fl 10,00 en als laatse termijn krijgen zij in januari 1947 nog fl 10,00.
    De daaropvolgende jaren ging het blijkbaar weer iets beter met het gezin want dan komen zij niet meer voor in de rekeningen van het armenbestuur. In 1950 komt hier echter weer verandering in want dant ontvangen zij op 13 januari en 28 januari een bedrag van fl 50,00 op voorschot.
    in 1951 krijgen zij tot en met april fl 10,00 per week, verder krijgen ze op
    19 -11-1951 fl 10,00 reiskosten naar een kliniek in Nijmegen voor zoon Bart om voor hem aangepaste schoenen te krijgen. deze schoenen werden ook door het armenbestuur betaald, kosten fl 22,50. miv 1 juli 1951 wordt de onderstand aan het gezin gestaakt. vermoedelijk zijn de oudste kinderen dan al aan het werk gegaan en brengen zodoende wat meer geld in het laatje. In 1952 krijgt het gezin op voorspraak van den heer pastoor fl 50,00 voor de aanschaf van priesterkleding voor zoon Frits. In 1955 ontvangt dochter Truus voor hulp in de huishouding bij Huyben(ook een arm gezin) op 28-07,09-08 en 20-08 respectievelijk fl 40,00, fl 35,00 en fl 22,50. De gezinssituatie kennende zal dit geld vermoedelijk gebruikt zijn voor het gehele gezin.
