PENNINGS, Berent Hendrik - At the Brantford General Hospital on Thursday, September 3, 2009. Bert was born January 30, 1923 in the Netherlands and emigrated to Canada in 1949. He will be sadly missed by his wife Nellie and by his children Bill (Gwen) Kinburn; Hans (Ena) Cambridge; Theo (Linda) Brantford; Dick (Joanne) Sheffield; Lyda (Dave) McKittrick Guelph; Henry (Coby) Dutton; Joanne (Stan) Puklicz, New Hamburg; John (Ann), Rockton; Gary (Janet) Binbrook and the Versteeg family Brenda (Carl) Hiemstra, Aylmer; Jim, Forwich; Mary (Ryan Koning), Brantford, Andrew, Ethel; Brian, Houston, B.C. He will be sadly missed by nephew Wim (Janet) of Rockton. Also surviving are 54 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 7 brothers. He was predeceased by one grandchild; his first wife Gerharda, 1 brother and 1 sister in Holland. The family will receive friends at the Zion United Reformed Church, Sheffield on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at the church on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment Zion Cemetery, Copetown. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Word and Deed Ministries would be appreciated by the family.
