Haar vader was Dirck van Fogelsangh, uit een geslacht dat reeds in de 15e eeuw op Hania State te Oosterwierum woonde.
Na de dood van Sjouck in 1652 kwam de eigendom van Fogelsangh Slate aan haar beide zonen: Dirck, zich naar zijn moeder noemende Van Fogelsangh en Pibo van Doma.

Het juiste stichtingsjaar van het klooster is niet bekend, wel weten we, dat het geteisterd werd bij de stormvloed in de Sint Barbaranacht (14 december) van 1287, toen de dijken van de Lauwerszee doorbraken. Wellicht zijn toen vele nonnen verdronken; in elk geval bleken drie jaar later nog slechts twintig personen in het klooster te leven. Twee eeuwen later, in 1480, komt de Olijfberg in opspraak en daardoor in het nieuws, als de proost, Heer Egbert, zich schuldig maakt aan de roof van vijf jonkvrouwen uit het klooster Cuesmar in het Groninger Westerkwartier, die hij niet goedschiks weer afstond. Na hel doordringen van de Hervorming in Friesland werden de kloosters geseculariseerd en vervielen de goederen aan de Provincie (1580), die dit domein aanvankelijk verhuurde.

Voor de Olijfberg brak een nieuwe tijd aan, toen de Staten van Friesland het voormalige klooster in 1644 verkochten aan Sjouck van Fogelsangh. Waarschijnlijk zal zij niet het gehele domein gekocht hebben, dat in de kloostertijd mede door schenkingen en legaten aangegroeid was tot 700 pondemaat (250 bunder).
Sjouck van Fogelsangh was in 1644 weduwe van Jacob Pybes van Doma († 1623). Haar vader was Dirck van Fogelsangh, uit een geslacht dat reeds in de 15e eeuw op Hania State te Oosterwierum woonde. Na de dood van Sjouck in 1652 kwam de eigendom van Fogelsangh Slate aan haar beide zonen: Dirck, zich naar zijn moeder noemende Van Fogelsangh en Pibo van Doma.
