Hij was bakker te Dokkum.
In 1698 voogd over Sierd Gerrits en Trijntje Gerrits en in 1708 over Sierd Willems.
Hij erft voor een vijfde deel van Jeltje Sierds van der Leij (zie haar testament d.d. 11-11-1690 bij de stukken van HvF 7941 d.d. 30-5-1702).
Groot Consentboek Leeuwarden EE 32-folio 74v d.d. 1-5-1711: hij is voor 1/9 deel eigenaar van 2 huizen in Leeuwarden, ook Sierd Willems onder zijn voogdij voor 1/9, Feicke Willems, chirurgijn te Wirdum, voor 1/9, Sierd Gerrits, zeilmaker te Makkum, voor 1/18 en diens zuster Trijntje Gerrits, vrouw van Petrus Brantsma te Dokkum, voor 1/18e. Zij verkopen het 4/9e deel van de huizen voor 1800 car.gld.

HvF 13445 d.d. 27-10-1742: Ds.Franciscus Holkama te Makkum verklaarde, dat Johannes Clasen bakker was te Dokkum en dat deze familie was van zijn moeder Minke van der Leij. Zijn overgrootvader Feycke Clases van der Leij, kamerbode van de Admiraliteit te Dokkum, had een zuster Tjitske, die de grootmoeder was van Johannes Clasen.
