Hij heeft nogal een zwervend bestaan geleid, mogelijk omdat hij als vrijgezel her en der als boerenknecht is gaan werken. Op ... (?) vertrekt hij vanuit Bladel naar Kaatsheuvel. Per 11-10-1886, op het moment van de huwelijkssluiting van zijn broer Adriaan, woont hij in Waalwijk en wordt dan vernoemd als zijnde landbouwer. In 1891 woont hij te Kaatsheuvel (zie: N.A. Bladel/Reusel/Netersel, inv. nr. N 362, 05-09-1891, akte nr. 94). Volgens het Bevolkingsregister van Tilburg vestigt hij zich te Tilburg op 04-07-1914 op het adres Bredaseweg 438. Daarvoor woonde hij in Loon op Zand. Per 02-05-1921 vertrekt hij vanuit Tilburg naar Dongen (met de aantekening: in de Barakken bij zijn broer). Volgens de Bevolkingsregisters van Dongen komt hij aldaar inwonen bij het gezin van zijn broer Adriaan Roijmans, die overigens per 19-12-1919 al was overleden. Josephus
Roijmans is dan nog altijd ongehuwd.
