Hij vertrekt op bijna 23-jarige leeftijd (dus in 1883-1884) vanuit Reusel, waar zijn ouders dan wonen, naar Berkel. (Aangenomen wordt dat het hier gaat om Berkel ten noorden van Tilburg en niet om Berkel boven Rotterdam; maar onderzoek in hetBevolkingsregister van Berkel-Enschot leverde geen inschrijving op van Frans Roijmans). Hij is getuige bij het huwelijk van zijn broer Petrus Antonius Roijmans (nr. 2402) op 05-03-1886 te Herentals (B). Uit de akte van de burgerlijke stand te Herentals blijkt dat er nog een aantal andere getuigen optreden, allen woonachtig te Herentals. Of dat laatste ook geldt voor Frans Roijmans is niet volledig zeker. Nader onderzoek moet nog uitwijzen waar hij gebleven is. Op het moment van de huwelijkssluiting van zijn broer Peter in 1886 te Herentals wordt Frans Roijmans vermeld als zijnde molenaar.
